uLead2023 - The Summit of Educational Leadership has ended
Welcome to uLead 2023.  We are thrilled you will be joining us at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel for our annual school leadership conference hosted by the Council for School Leadership of The Alberta Teachers’ Association.

If you have any questions during the event, we will have uLead team members at the registration table throughout the entire three days of the conference. This table can be found just outside of the Van Horne Ballroom where all of our keynote presentations are taking place.

Internationally Educated Teachers (IETs) are underemployed in Ontario, possibly throughout Canada. They can help us address teacher shortages and can be a valuable resource as we create anti-oppressive school environments. The presenter's Education Doctorate problem of practice focused on understanding the challenges of internationally educated teachers and identifying supports for their successful integration as valued staff members in public schools. Since completion of the EdD she has engaged with colleagues on a journey to work with IETs. This workshop will present the research foundations of the work and the practical learning that has resulted through engagement with IETs.
